Peter Quillin, former middleweight world titleholder, returning in September

Former middleweight world titleholder “Kid Chocolate” Peter Quillin, out of action since suffering his only defeat, will end a 21-month layoff on Sept. 8. Craig Watson steps down as Britain and Ireland captain for family issue

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland — Craig Watson is stepping down as Walker Cup captain for Britain and Ireland because of a serious illness in his immediate family. The R&A did not provide any other details on the illness. Watson had spent two years preparing for the matches against American amateurs on Sept. 10-11 at Los Angeles Country Club. Surgery shows Dallas Cowboys LB Anthony Hitchens’ ACL OK

ARLINGTON, Texas — Arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday revealed that Dallas Cowboys linebacker Anthony Hitchens‘ right ACL is intact. Hitchens was diagnosed with a tibial plateau fracture in his right knee after getting hurt in last week’s preseason game against the Oakland Raiders. While an MRI did not show an ACL tear, the Cowboys wanted to make sure it was strong, which is why Hitchens underwent the scope.
